GOD’s Wisdom in You
Many Christians do not realize what they are missing. They think that GOD plays favorites and has given a lot of gifts to some of His children but has largely ignored a lot of people in the Church. For this reason, many look up to the clergy and those who serve in church as the “qualified” workers of GOD’s Kingdom.
The Scriptures tell us that since the beginning, GOD created man in His image and in His likeness (Gen 1:26). GOD created man to think like Him, see like Him, speak like Him, act like Him. GOD took the dust of the ground and formed man out of it and breathed into him the breath of life (Gen 2:7). GOD breath into man His own essence of being, not of omnipotence or omnipresence or omniscience, but a spirit of power, of love and of a sound mind, to be master over all life on the earth. That doesn’t sound to me like He short-changed any of us. In fact, for Adam to name all the animals, it took a lot of intelligence. Clearly, GOD does not give a job to any man without equipping him with the necessary skills to dispense authority and power. The mandate to Adam was immense and without GOD’s wisdom, he would be ill-equipped to handle even a small part of it.
What happened? Why did Adam lose it? When Adam partook of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, he rejected his relationship with GOD and abdicated his rulership over all life on earth. He lost his God-sense and hence, his spirituality. And it affected not only himself but all his family and all the earth over which he had authority (Rom 8:20). Adam was driven away from his home with GOD and because he could no longer “sense” GOD, he began to use his physical senses and depended on it for survival. The creation he was supposed to nurture turned against him in rebellion and Adam “learned” to create an artificial habitation made and protected by his carnal senses. He learned from his unfriendly environment and invented ways to tame it. The passage of time proved fatal to man’s occupation with himself and the propagation of his own ideas and not of GOD’s. He adapted and learned and has been learning since then to advance himself. Today, man’s social status is determined by the letters after his name (M.D., MBA, Ph. D., etc) and of course, his genealogy.
BUT all is not hopeless. GOD has a strategy in history. After all, it is not the story of man but GOD’s story.
GOD has a secret wisdom hidden in former times and He made it for our benefit before the world began (1 Cor 2:7).
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
and no mind has imagined
what GOD has prepared
for those who love Him.”
- Isaiah 64:4
Wisdom calls out to men everywhere to partake of its fruit and declares:
The LORD created me as the beginning of his works,
before his deeds of long ago.
From eternity I was appointed,
from the beginning, from before the world existed.
- Proverbs 8:22, 23
Adam lost Paradise; the second Adam has regained it! Yes, JESUS told the repentant thief, “Today, you shall be with Me in Paradise.” That thief became a child of GOD and is now at home with GOD. He regained his God-sense and is enjoying eternal relationship with GOD.
Without GOD, we are nothing. GOD sent His Son, JESUS, to become sin for us so that through Him we might attain the righteousness of GOD. JESUS is the only way back to Paradise. In each of our hearts, GOD gave a measure of faith to believe in His Son so that we can be saved. Each man must decide whether he will surrender his life to GOD. It is this act of faith that causes GOD to breath into us His Spirit so that we can have life which is not merely existing but living an abundant life. JESUS declared, “If you believe in Me, come and drink! For the Scriptures declare that rivers of living water will flow out from within” (John 7:38). GOD promises that every man who gives his life to GOD will gain it and out of him will overflow what GOD intended man to have from the beginning – His SPIRIT communing with man’s spirit.
GOD reveals His knowledge to the SPIRIT and His SPIRIT searches out everything and shows us even GOD’s deep secrets. GOD gave us His SPIRIT so we can know the wonderful things GOD has freely given us (1 Cor 2:10). When you have the SPIRIT, you have the mind of CHRIST!
Now man has another chance, another choice to make. Man can enter GOD’s presence once again through the blood of the Lamb. Man can drink out of the river of GOD or dig up his own cistern for water that cannot quench. GOD’s wisdom is available to those who humble themselves and seek the discernment of the SPIRIT. To learn is of man but to discern GOD’s knowledge and apply it rightly is of the SPIRIT. Adam never went to University but GOD used to walk with him in the cool of the day teaching him how to rule the earth. The second Adam – JESUS – walked with the FATHER always by the power of the SPIRIT and discerned the knowledge of GOD.
“For we are His workmanship, having been created in CHRIST JESUS for good works that GOD prepared beforehand so that we may do them.” (Eph 2:10) Since the beginning, man was created to be totally dependent on GOD, especially in acquiring wisdom. GOD is the Source of everything and only He can choose who He showers His blessings with. GOD has a glorious destiny for all of us and we are called to join Him to fulfill our destiny.
The world is experiencing a global crisis that is affecting everyone. The so-called wisdom of the world got us into this mess. Some men thought that they could play against the rules and win and continue winning. Their financial schemes are so convoluted that even the US Federal Reserve is finding it so difficult to trace the winding maze of these sophisticated financial instruments. The enemy who blinded all these men from the truth is very clever and he persuaded these men that they were above everyone else and their pursuits, above governmental scrutiny. Well, they have threatened the whole financial system and the US government is so busy dosing fires everywhere that no one has been held accountable so far. So much for man’s wisdom!
While it is true that GOD has imbued some men a lot of wisdom and they are used by GOD to teach us, that does not exempt us from communing with GOD so we may be instructed wisely on our daily walk. To King David, the nearness of GOD is his good and that is why, GOD promoted him from being shepherd to King. Man was not meant to feed from the digested food of other men. Man was designed to commune intimately with his Creator and be fed by Him. But it is up to each of us to enter GOD’s presence.
“Draw near to Me, and I will draw to you!’ says the LORD.
